Doberman Pinscher dog breed is an energetic medium size dog that is muscular and has great endurance and speed.

They were employed as working dogs in many areas such as in police and military. These dogs are intelligent and alert which make them good guard dogs.

In today's society, these dogs are mostly bred as family pets. This breed, just like Akita Inu dog breed, has been reported to have aggressive behavior if not trained properly. So, if you want to live peacefully with this dog, you need to conduct the Doberman Pinscher training (house training and obedience training) in a consistent manner.

Doberman is short-coated so it is easy to be groomed. This dog has athlete body that needs regular exercise. So, you should take him out for at least 45 minute of daily walking.

History and Origins
Doberman is originating from German around 1890. The tax collector back then needed one kind of protection dog to protect from bandit.

The characteristics of the dogs are mix of the German Pinscher, the Beauceron, the Rottweiler, the Thuringian Sylvan Dog, the black Greyhound, the Great Dane, the Weimaraner, the German Shorthaired Pointer, the Manchester Terrier and the Old German Shepherd Dog.

It was believed that Doberman is the combination of at least 4 of above breeds.

Group
Doberman, together with English Mastiff dog breed and Newfoundland dog breed, is categorized into Working Group in American Kennel Club (AKC) and The Kennel Club (UK).

Living Condition
They are doing best with a landed house that has sufficient size of yard for them to run around. Apartment live is not so good for them, but if you provide the enough daily exercise, you could still own this breed.

Exercise
This is an active dog breed that need a lot of exercise. You can try to put on a back pack on him during the daily walk, so that he will feel that he is useful and also able to drink more of his energy.

Doberman Pinscher training will be easily conducted after the exercise because your dog will have a clearer mind and less energy.

Shedding
These dog do not shed much. Since they have short hair, you just need to groom them weekly.

This is an medium size that has a square and compact body. They body is muscular with great endurance and speed. Their head is long. They have alertness eyes with almond-shaped. Their neck has nice muscle and has a broad chest. Tail is docked.

They are smooth-coated and color can be in black, brown, blue and faw.

Characteristics/Temperaments and Energy level
These dogs are energetic, determined and watchful. In the same time, they are also alert and fearless of strangers. These criteria have made them good guard dogs.

But in the same time, they are loyal and obedient to people close to them. If they are properly trained in puppy obedience training and puppy house training, they should not develop any aggressive behavior.
