Golden Rescue Group Reunion Picnic

All 3 of our Goldens were adopted thru the Goledn Rescue Group that we volunteer with.....Foothill Golden Retriever Rescue, Greenville, SC.

Rocky is 11 yrs old. Picked up buy the Doggie Police for roaming the streets. He was 9 yrs old at the time and his former owners refused to pay his bail!!! We took him in and he is just the perfect "senior" Golden. Mostly he holds the sofa down so it doesn't float up to the ceiling :-) His favorite toy is a huge green frog that "croaks" when he chews on it's belly.....it's basically his pacifier.

Charlie is 9 yrs old. He was dumped at the local shelter and at death's door. He had Heartworms, skin & bones, horrible fur and had been abused !!! When we first got him, I thought he would break if I touched him :-((( Had a tough time the 1st year getting his health back & teaching him to trust again. But with homemade food and a lot of love & patience, he slowly came back to a normal loving Golden.His favorite past time is retrieving socks from his dad's laundry basket because he know we will reward him for bringing them to us and nor chewing them up.....of course, this is repeated til we either close the closet door or he runs out of socks :-))

Annie is 7 yrs old. She had a fairly normal home but there was a divorce and the wife couldn't give her enough attention because of her work schedule so she gave her up so she could have a better life :-) Annie's job is to push around her brothers.....but they couldn't care less so it's an easy job!

My Goldens aren't my whole life but they make my life whole!!!! And being part of the rescue group is the most fulfilling thing we ever done.
