Havanese is a small, sturdy dog with a friendly disposition. They are National Dog of Cuba and the country’s only native breed.
Their coat is curly, silky and plentiful, but remains extremely light.

History and Origins
Havanese's native country is Cuba.
These small dogs were developed from the now extinct Bichon Tenerife,
which was introduced to the Canary Islands by the Spanish and later to other islands and colonies of Spain by sailors.
Group
Havanese has been categorized under Toy Group
for both American Kennel Club (AKC) and The Kennel Club (UK),
together with Chihuahua
and Shitzu dog breed.
Havanese is also a working dog. where it has been utilized for a variety of jobs:-
- Therapy dogs
- Assistance dogs, such as signal dogs for the hearing impaired.
- Performing dogs
- Mold and termite detection
- Tracking
Living Condition
Havanese is another active indoor dog and should not be confined outside the house. They are good to live an apartment life.
Exercise
All dogs needs exercise. You should take him for a 45 minute walk daily to drain his energy.
If his energy never goes away, he might develop behavior problems such as biting and barking.
Shedding
Some people believe that this breed is a non-shedding dog breed.
I believe that it could have shed little compare to other dog breed. So, people with allergy could try to own this dog breed.

General Appearance
Havanese is a toy breed that has a sturdy, lively and intelligent look.
The eyes are dark brown, large, almond-shaped. The neck is of moderate length, in balance with the height and length of the dog.
Coat and Color
The coat is long, soft, light, and silky. The major color of the coat is white and black.
But, the coat can be in any other colors.

Height: 8.5 - 11.5 inches (21.6 - 29.2 cm)
Weight: 7.0 - 13.0 pounds (3.2 - 5.9 kg)

14 - 16 years

4 - 5 puppies
Characteristics/Temperaments and Energy level
Havanese is playful, friendly, clever and active. It is well behaved with children and other pets.
It is definitely not a pet that is shy with new people.
They are playful and alert. They like to gain attention from their owner by running around or play some tricks.
