History and Origins
Pekingese Dog breed is over 2000 years old and has hardly changed in all that time.
This is an ancient breed or toy dog originated in China in antiquity, in the city of Peking most likely from Asian wolves.
For centuries, they could be owned only by members of the Chinese Imperial Palace.
Group
Pekingese dog breed, together with Havanese
and Pug dog,
is categorized in Toy Group
in both American Kennel Club (AKC) and The Kennel Club (UK).
Living Condition
Pekingese are mainly inactive indoor dog. They are doing great in an apartment life.
So, you wouldn't expect a yard is necessarily for this breed.
Exercise
Every dogs need daily walk to make them balanced dogs. So, try to bring your dog outside to exercise for 45 minutes daily.
After exercise, you may continue to train your Pekingese with proven dog training methods. I bet that they will learn better after exercise.
Shedding
These dogs are average shedders. You will have to groom him a few times weekly and preferably brush away the dead hair daily.

General Appearance
Normally, Pekingese has small skull and flattened face. The body is well-balanced and compact.
Their face has some wrinkle and their. Ears are heavily feathered. They also have broad, short and black nose.
Eyes are large, dark and expressive. Eyes set wide apart from each other. The legs are noticeably bowed and restrict the movement.
Coat and Color
Pekingese has a double coat. The majority colors of the coat are gold, red or sable.
Light gold, cream, black, white, sables, black and tan and occasionally 'blue' or slate grey have appeared in the breed.

According to AKC definition, Pekingese's temperaments is a combination of regal dignity, intelligence

Other than that, they are also sensitive dogs that are devoted to their master.
They always stay cautious with strangers and young children. With your help, they will slowly build on trust with new people.
