There are some dog owners give affection to the dog in order to stop dog whining, actually, the action has encouraged the dog to whine more.

Remember that dogs are different from human in many ways, especially in psychology. If you give affection to a child that is crying, he will stop crying. But, dogs or puppies are not children. If you give affection to a whining or crying dog, this action will intensify the dog to whine more to get more affection.

Dog whining is common among puppies that are 6 to 8 months old. It is a way of communication. It is to let his pack members or human know that he is worried about something. If the dog whining issue is not controlled, your dog may develop some higher degree dog behavior problem such as excessive dog barking or dog dominance issue.
